To know Three Bluebirds, you must first know Swedish dishcloths. Swedish dishcloths are eco-friendly alternatives to paper towels or sponges that are praised for their ability to absorb 20 times their weight. A single Swedish dishcloth can replace up to 17 rolls of paper towels, has a lifespan of up to 9 months, and can be composted!
Married couple Lasse and Lynda created Three Bluebirds to share Lasse’s art as well as Scandinavian innovation with others, and to inspire people to have more environmentally sustainable lives!
Lasse grew up in Finland using Swedish dishcloths in his everyday life, but they were always a solid color, lacking any sort of design. So, when they started their own brand they decided to create whimsical, fun designs that strayed from the bland dishcloths that Lasse was used to. The unique patterns found on the Three Bluebirds’ Swedish dishcloths are thanks to Lasse’s own drawings!
To stay true to their eco-friendly ideals, Lynda and Lasse choose to design and print their dishcloths locally, in their now home state of Connecticut. Working with another wife and husband team, their dishcloths are all hand printed using only eco-friendly water-based inks!
As for their company name, the bluebird represents joy, love and dancing. Lynda tokens the three symbolic bluebirds to her husband and twin daughters!
